for TCIDP The South African Revenue Service (SARS) has announced the creation of a rebate provision for textiles and textile articles entered for home consumption after 1 January 2006 up to 30 September 2008 for use in accordance with the interim Textile and Clothing Industry Development Programme (TCIDP). The rebate provision contains notes on the Duty Credit Certificate (DCC) issued by the International Trade Administration Commission (ITAC) as specified in the TCIDP Rules and Procedures. Tariff Amendments
– 23 June 2006 A new rebate provision is created for textiles and textile articles imported for use in the TCIDP. The creation of rebate provisions for goods used in the manufacture of ship-to-store gantry cranes and the installation of gantry crane track construction material. Response due by 30 June 2006. No Trade Remedy Amendments

– Response Due The proposed insertion of rule 38.16 under the Customs and Excise Act (Act) dealing with the entry of goods for export and specifically the completion of consignment, transaction, payment particulars on forms DA550 and DA554. Response due by 14 July 2006. The proposed amendment of Schedule No.4 to the Act by the creation of rebate provisions for the importation of goods liable for specific customs duty, in order to avoid double taxation. The proposed rule amendment is to ensure control over the goods imported and to avoid diversion without the payment of specific customs duty due. Accordingly, goods must be imported by licensed manufacturers and licensed removers. Response due by 7 July 2006. Draft Rules – Response Closed Response due on proposed amendment of form DA70 form i.e. “Provisional Payment”. Response due by 23 June 2006. No Rule Amendments
