Cape Town truck driver Jack Mothsale has proved that anyone can live their dreams – with perseverance and hard work Until 2007, Mothsale could not read and worked as a gardener at Karstens Farm in Konnoneiland. At age 43 he enrolled for an Adult Education and Training (AET) course, he got his Code 14 driver’s licence in 2011 – and was promoted from gardener to truck driver in the same year. His first road trip was to Prieska. “I was very excited because I could read the road signs and arrived at my destination without any problems,” he said. “I can now read my Bible, send SMSs on my cell phone and withdraw money from the ATM without assistance.” CAPTION Jack Mothsale ... late starter.
