DP World to develop logistics free zone in Senegal

Dubai’s port operator DP World has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Senegal to build and develop a logistics free zone outside the capital city of Dakar, DP World has announced.

The free zone will be developed near the Blaise Diagne International Airport, in the same region as the DP World Dakar terminal on the outskirts of the city, Emirates news agency WAM reported.

The investment aligns with the United Arab Emirates’ aim to support growth and development.

DP World and Ports, Customs and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) chairman Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem said: “It is our long-standing commitment at DP World… to help these countries build necessary infrastructure for trade and economic development, especially in the port industry where DP World is a global leader with an expanding portfolio of 65 terminals currently operated worldwide.”
