JOY ORLEK FOLLOWING ITS acquisition of the P&O Group in March this year, DP World is set to rebrand its operations worldwide. How this will affect the South African operation of P&O Ports Nationwide is yet to be determined. “In terms of the DP World operation, South Africa is fairly unique in that it does not have terminals at this stage,” says operations manager Pat Guilfoyle. “We are purely on board vessel based and in the South African context, P&O is still a very powerful brand name, so there is no firm decision on South Africa as yet.”
