Hong Kong-based neutral air cargo solutions group, Aero Africa, has launched a digital airfreight rate platform to cater to the needs of the African freight and logistics community. According to the company’s COO, Jade Da Costa, the new airfreight gateway and consolidation portal has been available exclusively to freight forwarders and transport-related companies in southern Africa since June this year, providing instant airfreight wholesale rates, consolidation schedules, and bookings from major global hubs to 84 airports in Africa.“By combining our extensive experience and expertise in airfreight with our new technological capabilities, it allows us to open up new and innovative ways for African logistics providers to conduct airfreight business,” Da Costa told Freight News. “This will transform traditional notions of efficiency and routes to market.”He said it was the first of several new initiatives planned for release this year, all aimed at enhancing value to the African logistics community as a whole. Aero Africa operates neutral scheduled airfreight consolidation services from Asia and Europe to selected gateways in Africa. “The new portal will enable us to digitise the air cargo logistics B2B community, and to provide full visibility and transparency to our clients’ airfreight import business,” explained Da Costa. “It has been tailored to the needs of the African logistics market, taking into consideration every small detail of the airfreight procurement and consolidation management model at each gateway and African destination.”
