Delta Air plans December flights

DELTA AIR Lines last Thursday (February 9) revealed plans to launch a service between Atlanta and South Africa via Dakar, Senegal in December. Pending necessary government approvals, the airline will become the only US carrier to operate a scheduled service on the route. Jimmy Eichelgruen, Delta’s manager, gsa sales Europe, ME and Africa, said the flights would be routed via Dakar for refuelling. A B767-300 will be operated on the route. Delta will end its codeshare with SAA which will now codeshare with Star Alliance partner, United. No details on frequency of flights have been revealed.
