Defaulting bond holders beware

BOND HOLDERS who missed the April 19 deadline for validation of existing surety bonds could be in for punitive action from Customs.
According to Safcor Panalpina, letters of validation should have been submitted to the Controller at the office where the bond was registered.
“Customs has warned that punitive action will be taken against defaulters after the deadline date,” a spokesman said.
