Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr Rob Davies, on Monday launched the tenth iteration of the Industrial Action Plan (Ipap 2018/19). He said this new iteration put emphasis on stronger interventions to support transformation led by the flagship Black Industrialists Scheme.
It also includes what Davies terms a “bouquet of new and creative incentive measures” to drive investment in certain growth industries, including agro-processing and automotive manufacturing.
“Ipap 2018/2019 is focused on a stronger export effort driven by existing lead and dynamic national export champions and new, especially black-owned, entrants,” said Davies.
The new action plan also included “significant interventions” to respond to the challenges and opportunities posed by the fourth industrial revolution, he added.
