DAL ends West Africa service

THIS MONTH marks the end of the service between Europe and West Africa run by the Deutsche Afrika Linien (DAL) specialist West Africa division - West-Afrika Linien (WAL) - according to information released to FTW by DAL press officer, Svante Domizlaff. WAL has been a co-loader on two Delmas-OTAL services since 2003 - with WAL providing one ship. BRS-Alphaliner points out that MOL, which has also been buying slots on the service since last year, is in the same position as DAL. “Should slot charter rates stay at a high level it could reconsider its participation,” said the report.
