Kevin Mayhew DESPITE INCREASED competition after the opening of the Trans-Kalahari Corridor, Peterbill Transport – one of the longest running operators on the Johannesburg – Namibia route – has maintained a growth path. According to managing director, Billy Phillips, the company has seen slight growth in its business over the past year. Peterbill Transport was established in 1976, and based in Boksburg. It has offered daily full and part load deliveries to Windhoek, firstly via Upington and via Botswana using the Trans-Kalahari Corridor, since the opening in 1998. The company runs a fleet of 44 truck/tractors, having invested in an additional four units last year. Its trailer fleet consists of tautliners, flat decks and pantechnicon super links as well as three axle trailers.
