Tough crate…Sean Abbott, MD of Cape Crating, stands beside a rig carrying a 37ton
injection moulder packed in a crate especially designed to carry the full 37tons at the
base of the crate. This type of cargo requires specialised handling by heavy machines and needs a crate strong enough to protect the sensitive electronics. The dimensions of the crate
are 10.2 x 2m and 6 x 3.3m. The machine is secured in the crate and wrapped in four layers of barrier foil to keep the moisture out while at sea. Cape Crating’s expertise is in loading and packing non-standard cargo, especially machinery, in containers and flat racks.
