Courier service set for launch this year

Dynalog is set to launch a courier service into the continent this year. According to the company’s director, Kobus Rossouw, it will target African destinations from South Africa providing speedy door-to-door delivery. “Over the years we have seen a vast improvement in air cargo being traded across the continent,” he told FTW. “This being said, the continent still has its challenges. It is, however, the heart of our business and finding solutions for our clients to the little towns on the continent is what really makes what we do significant.” He said for the past
year the focus had been on growing sea freight – especially finding ways to provide improved turnkey solutions from sea to road delivery. “This year our focus will be on our new courier service that we are set to launch shortly,” he said. It’s an investment that Rossouw says will serve the company well considering the expected growth in the courier, express and parcel market in coming years. According to a recent market study, the sector is expected to see at least 5.7% compound
annual growth between now and 2022. He said the decision to branch out was one that had been carefully considered – especially in the current economic and political environment in South Africa. “Foreign traders are wary of investing and trading with South Africa, but we remain hopeful that this will change soon,” said Rossouw. “We are still a growing company and believe that much can be achieved in Africa. It is a dynamic and interesting continent that keeps us all on our toes – especially when it comes to delivering seamless freight solutions. There will always be opportunities in Africa, you just need to be willing to take the risk.”
