A shipping container proved to be a lifesaver for an Alabama mechanic and his workers when a deadly tornado swept through Alabama and Georgia recently.
According to AP News, the tornado destroyed his shop and left seven dead – including two of his neighbours.
When David Hollon and his workers saw the massive tornado approaching, they realised they needed to get to shelter - immediately.
He said they ran into a metal shipping container near the back of his garage because the container had been anchored to the floor with concrete.
"I guess we did a lot better than most. We got damage, but we're still here," 52-year-old Hollon told the news portal, as he stepped through a field littered with battered cars, shattered glass, snapped tree branches, splintered wood and other debris.
