Comesa members unlikely to resign

ALAN PEAT ALTHOUGH UNDER pressure to quit the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (Comesa) Kenya and Uganda are “unlikely” to resign, according to Kenya’s foreign minister, Ali Chirau Mwakwere. Nairobi’s The Nation reported that both are also key members of the East African Community, and multiple membership of trade blocs by many African countries has been criticised as complicating trade negotiations.
