Combined weight helps achieve rate

RATES PLAY a key role in securing business from agents, says Tammy Seita of airfreight wholesaler United Links SA, which provides an independent service worldwide to airfreight agents. As a wholesaler, combined weight helps achieve the rate, and this is part of the company’s cost-saving proposition for agents. “It’s a very cut-throat industry,” says Seita. “Our philosophy is to let the agent who deals in the commercial world dictate the rates, and as a wholesale agent we can enjoy the profit splits of the sale.”
