Clarity over slot agreement

THE ARTICLE headlined "Fuhai slot charters with Cosco" (FTW May 17, 2002) requires some clarification. Fuhai has not entered into a formal slot agreement with Cosco Lines. Rather, Fuhai and Cosco have an informal arrangement whereby Cosco may accept Fuhai cargo on an "SOC" basis. Mervyn Timothy, Hanpore Shipping, as agents for Fuhai Marine Enterprise, Johannesburg.
