THERE IS now a significant trade imbalance between China and South Africa, according to the Trade Law Centre for Southern Africa. It pointed to SA’s exports to China rising by 16.5% last year to R22-billion. Imports from China, however, rose 37% to R31.7-bn – creating a trade deficit of R9.7-bn for SA.
