In a move to new premises, CFR
Freight’s airfreight section has
now established a strong presence
right alongside the Cape Town
International Airport (CTIA).
According to Karen Schoeman,
Cape Town airfreight manager,
the section has moved from the
Montague Gardens premises which
it had previously shared with the
seafreight arm.
This, she told FTW, was not
viable, with distance from the airport
and the consequent transport costs –
especially with the rapid increase in
traffic volumes in the past two years.
This led to a move to new offices
and a dedicated airfreight warehouse
at the CTX Business Park at the
CTIA. The move has been very
well received by clients, as it allows
for greater flexibility in terms of
collections and airline cut-offs, she
added.
“Obviously, from a sales
perspective, cost has been greatly
decreased, and it has been a very
good move.”
