SOUTH AFRICA'S export growth has reflected well in the figures of independent NVOCC CFR Freight which last year saw a 50% increase in its export groupage figures. "And despite the depreciation of the rand, imports went up by 20%," managing director Uli Hatesohl told FTW last week. "The export department consisted of just two people last year, it's now up to five, and a sixth staff member will join us shortly," he said. CFR has just launched a fortnightly, direct service to West Africa.
