Cape’s top exporter finalists named

The Cape Chamber of Commerce this week announced the finalists in its annual Cape Exporter of the Year competition, now in its 25th year.

The winners will be announced at a gala event on November 5 at the Kenilworth Racecourse.

The finalists in this year’s competition are Akacia Medical, manufacturers and exporters of medical equipment and services; Belmet Marine, manufacturers of steel structures and equipment, mainly for the oil and gas industry; Environ, exporters of skin care and beauty products; and Folio on Line, a company that provides translation services for exporters and other businesses.

Also in the finals are Groot Constantia,wine exporters; Indigi Designs which manufactures and designs furniture and interior products; Maverick Trading, manufacturers of concrete and polymer manhole and drain covers; Nautic Africa, manufacturers of fast patrol boats and launches to African countries and the oil industry; and Rickard Air Diffusion, manufacturers of diffusers for air conditioning systems.

The last three finalists are Shonaquip, manufacturers of specialist wheel chairs for the disabled; Thokozani Winelands Investment which exports wine; and VV4 Agri which provides services to agriculture.
