MANY EXPORTERS have been left wanting by the demise of the SA Foreign Trade Organisation (Safto), says businesswoman Felicity Evans.
She is one of two partners of The Export Facilitator, a young company that has stepped in to offer exporters services and solutions to optimise their performance.
Initially the Cape Town-based company provided independent mediation of trade disputes when they began in January, 1998. They later added tailor-made, hands-on in-house training.
To improve accuracy and save time export management systems which automate repetitive functions such as documentation have become a growth business now, she explained.
She sees 1999 as the year when 'outsourcing' to free exporters to focus on their core competencies will be one of the company's key growth markets.
