CALLING ALL shippers with email and a willingness to be part of a pioneering new vessel-alerting service launched by FTW's sister publication on the Internet, Cargo Info Africa.
The service, to be known as Ahoy!, will inform shippers by email of the arrival of a ship, date changes, and for exporters, opening of stack dates or the latest information regarding which vessels are sailing to one of several hundred ports in a given date range.
Ahoy! will ultimately be offered to freight forwarders, but shippers will be used in the test phase.
