Bulk projects division focuses on trade corridors

With the creation of a bulk projects division headed up by St John Baxter, Super Group is targeting specific trade corridors within Africa – in line with the company’s overall strategy of becoming Africa's logistics giant. Having identified a huge need for multi-modal supply chain logistics solutions to move various bulk commodities for the mining industry from source in both the DRC and Zambia through to final destination in India and the Far East, the Group has developed streamlined multi-modal solutions that ultimately reduce the overall supply chain costs and delivery times. The benefit for customers is a reduction in their cash to cash cycle, creating an effective partnership pioneering effective supply chain management solutions that are unique to their specific requirements. One of the corridors runs from the DRC / Zambia through to Durban and from DRC / Zambia into Johannesburg. A second corridor has been identified via Maputo through to India and the Far East. Strategic partnerships and owned facilities on these trade corridors translate into a competitive, efficient and flexible supply chain logistics solution for the mining industry. Strong partnerships with rail operators guarantee capacity while the Super Group Cross Border Transport division provides access to over 500 vehicles that are based permanently in the region. Staging facilities are based in Ndola, Johannesburg and Durban, which ensures flexibility. All of which translates into an effective end-toend supply chain logistics solution that is innovative, adds value and delivers service.
