Brazil will burn untreated pallets

UNTREATED WOODEN pallets and crates conveying cargo to Brazil are likely to end up on a bonfire following the recent promulgation of new Brazilian fumigation regulations.
Untreated wooden pallets, crates,
dunnage and other items of conveyance from some countries will be incinerated at the port of discharge when they arrive, says a statement issued by the Brazilian government, acting on behalf of their ministers of finance and agriculture in conjunction with the port customs authorities.
What's more, says Johannesburg-based Peter Ward of Phoenix Pest Control Services, all costs involved are to be met by the importer - with no exceptions!
