BAX GLOBAL is setting the
foundations to move into Africa, according to sales and marketing director John Owen.
At a recent international
conference held in Sandton,
members from the DRC, Zambia, Kenya, Nigeria, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Ivory Coast,Madagascar, Mauritius, Malawi, and Uganda were in attendance. We are trying to encourage them to start supply chain management there as well, said Owen.
At the moment all these African countries, with the exception of South Africa, are still on the starting blocks of logistics and it is a major challenge for us to bring them up
to speed with our affiliate Bax
operations. We need them all to be on board, said Owen.
Many transport companies simply tag the word logistics after their names, but do not offer the true
service. They have to get up to scratch or they will find themselves out of business, said Owen.
