Avgas unit installed at Nacala Airport

The BP international aviation fuel subsidiary, Air BP, has installed a 30 000 litre Avgas refuelling tank at Nacala Airport in Mozambique’s Nampula Province.

Operational from December 1, the Air BP unit is the sole avgas supplier at the recently completed airport - which was revamped from a former military airport and was officially opened in November.

Air BP working on the installation of a similar Jet A1 unit.

Air BP serves a total of seven Mozambique airports: at Nacala, Pemba, Chingozit, Beira’s Manga Airport, Quelimane, Maputo; and Vilanculos.

The scheduled services at Nacala are Airlink on the Johannesburg (OR Tambo) route; Kenya Airways Nairobi (Jomo Kenyatta); LAM to Beira, Dar es Salaam, Lichinga, Maputo, Pemba, Tete; and Malawian Airlines to Blantyre and Lilongwe.
