Another sad chapter in transport company’s demise

It’s another sad chapter for the once-thriving transport company Celtic Freight which was a major player on the Zambia-South Africa route but was forced to close its doors during xenophobic attacks on foreign drivers last year.

After 23 years of deliveries to and from Zambia, - and having gained a solid reputation in the industry over those years - the company ceased operating over concerns for the safety of its drivers.

Its brand-new purpose-designed logistics and intermodal terminal has just gone on sale in Benoni.

Three warehouses, strategic location, a tarred yard were all part of the future plans of a company that was clearly upbeat about growth and had invested heavily to support that growth.
