Angola seals itself off to contain Covid-19

Angola has become the first country in the SADC to close off its air, sea, and land borders in a desperate bid to contain the Covid-19 virus.

Transit assistance group, Transist, has posted via Whatsapp that “Angola will close all its ports of entry for a period of 15 days as of midnight tonight (20 March).

According to Mike Fitzmaurice, who oversees Transist, “this includes all ports”.

The CEO of the Federation of East and Southern African Road Transport Associations added that “all international arrivals prior to the cut-off period will be required to undergo a 15-day period of self-quarantine”. – Eugene Goddard
