Eleven airlines could have antitrust fines of EUR790.5 million (R11.05 billion) re-imposed after attempts to broker a settlement failed, according to a Bloomberg report.
The two airlines heaviest hit in the 2010 court case were Air France-KLM (EUR310m fine) and British Airways (EUR104m). The remaining EUR376.5m in fines was imposed on the other nine carriers.
The European Commission said the companies coordinated their actions on fuel and security surcharges for six years.
The whistleblower, Deutsche Lufthansa, wasn’t fined.
