Airlines cater for differentiated care

SEVERAL AIRLINES have set up specialist services to cater for the diverse needs of the perishable market. KLM Cargo for example has a differentiated product delivering a range of air transportation products based on differentiated levels of conditioning care. Each product provides a clear standard in terms of minimum and maximum temperatures for acceptance, transportation, storage and delivery. The airline has conducted extensive independent research into the behaviour of fresh produce during transporta­tion, and this research has contributed to the design of each of its products – Fresh Regular, Fresh Cool and Fresh Supercool.
