Airline major’s net profit jumps almost 30%

IAG - the parent of British Airways, Iberia, Aer Lingus and Vueling – recorded a 29% rise in net profit to EUR1.95 billion in 2016.

Operating profit before exceptional items for the calendar year was up 8.6% to €2.53bn.

Total revenue took a slight dip of 1.3% to €22.57bn, but operating costs were also down 2.4% at €20.08 billion.
