International Airlines Group (IAG) yesterday signed a letter of intent with Boeing for 200 737 aircraft at the Paris Air Show.
The mixture of 737 MAX-8 and MAX-10 planes will be used by a number of IAG’s airlines which include British Airways, Vueling and Level.
Operations of the 737 MAX-8 came to a global halt in March this year following two fatal crashes involving the aircraft at the cost of 346 lives.
The deal, valued at more than $24 billion, is the first sizeable order for Boeing since the MAX was grounded.
The aircraft will be delivered between 2023 and 2027.
Boeing shares have gone up 2.8% since the announcement was made.
