In response to growing demand, Linex Air Services has expanded its network and opened new offices in Saigon, Colombo, Sri-Lanka, Penang and Ho Chi Min City. Vietnam is one of the countries that has recorded a big increase in both imports and exports, says Linex director Martine Forbes. The company now has 14 offices in mainland China and an additional 15 across Asia. “The economy is certainly sufficiently buoyant for us to open these offices,” Forbes told FTW. “We are following the lead of our partner Cathay and will have a presence in all the countries in which they operate. If airfreight volumes have decreased this has certainly had no impact on us and our expansion,” she added. Linex is the general sales agent (GSA) for Cathay, Dragon Air and Air China. The company sees the East as a huge potential growth market. “As specialists in this market we are using all our skills and resources to ensure that we are prepared for the growth. “China is not getting caught up in the global negativity – it is moving forward on an ongoing basis,” she said.
