AIR GABON is facing bankruptcy, but that nation’s president Omar Bongo Ondimba is pulling out all the stops in an effort to save it. The airline which flies a regular service to and from South Africa, is one of the most popular with
SA businessmen and
cargo exporters.
President Ondimba has asked his ministers to submit measures to the Council of Ministers as a matter of urgency, giving their opinions on how best the government can help top save the airline.
Prime Minister Jean-Francois Ntououme Emane has disclosed that the airline has been facing serious financial problems for several years, and still has large loans which must be paid back. It could face bankruptcy unless steps are taken to save it, he says.
