Agri SA has vowed to work alongside government and industry bodies to monitor the impact of the coronavirus on the agricultural sector. According to a statement released by the agricultural body, it has been difficult to measure the economic impact on South African agriculture yet.
Agri SA’s executive director, Omri van Zyl, has said that supply chain and logistical disruptions were expected and that this would cause havoc for export-driven agricultural sectors.
South Africa exports approximately 25 agricultural commodities amounting to $10 billion annually. -
