ALAN PEAT BOTSWANA HAS just launched the African growth and opportunity forum (Agof) – planned to bring together stakeholders, business associations, government officials, and community leaders who have knowledge of the country’s trade-related advantages and challenges. According to the local newspaper, The Gazette, Amanda Hilligas, adviser to the African global competitiveness hub, hopes these groups will establish the importance of diversification and develop a plan of action for targeting Agoa products other than the country’s current focus on textiles and clothing exports.
