African ports and harbours congress planned

PORT CONCESSIONING, financing of port developments and maritime security are among the issues to be debated at the African Ports & Harbours Congress 2005 to be held at Gallagher Estate, Midrand from June 21-23 this year.
The heavyweight speaker line-up includes Dr Eugene Mokeyane, director general of the Department of Public Enterprises, South African Maritime Safety Authority CEO, Sipho Msinkinya, Namibian Ports Authority MD Sebby Kankondi, and Mervin Chetty, SA Port Operations executive.
The event will run alongside, Africa Rail, and delegates can attend the first day of the rail event where Minister of Transport Jeff Radebe and Transnet CEO Maria Ramos are among the speakers.
Johannesburg-based Terrapinn are the event co-ordinators.
