Adding marketing muscle

Information technology (IT)
company Easyclear has appointed
new sales and marketing staff in
KwaZulu Natal (KZN) to serve the
needs of its growing customer base
in the province, as well as identify
new business.
“Through continued product
development in web and cloudbased
technology
for the freight
and logistics
industry, we
are able to offer
more varied
alternatives
as part of
our solutions
offering – and we
have identified
a number of KZN clients who
will benefit from our expanded
products,” said general manager
Michael Henning.
He told FTW that the KZN
region had long been a strategic
hub for global and regional trade as
many large corporates have branch
offices in Durban and Richards
Bay to facilitate their outbound
and inbound freight. “The growth
of the automotive industry and
the emergence of Richards Bay
as a strategic port player have
contributed to the province’s
positioning as a key trade player and
provided expansion opportunities
for Easyclear,” said Henning.
He conceded that the province
had its fair share
of challenges
which needed
to be addressed
to facilitate
trade, including
political issues
between local
authorities.
“Port operations
need to become
more efficient and can be addressed
through direct dialogue and
industry collaboration,” Henning
said, using the recent example of
the close collaboration between
the freight industry and the South
African Revenue Service (Sars)
during customs modernisation
implementation.
