Making a strong political – and economic – statement, South African president, Jacob Zuma, took time out with newly elected Nigerian president, Goodluck Jonathan, on his first visit to the country earlier this month. Nigeria’s growth rate is expected to reach 7.2% this year, making it one of the fastest growing economies in the world. “South Africa and Nigeria, with our robust economies and large markets, are well placed to accelerate the emergence of this Renaissance [in] Africa,” said Jonathan at a South Africa-Nigeria business forum in Cape Town last week.
