Abnormal load specialist caters for mining industry needs

THE MOVEMENT of abnormal loads for the mining industry is the specialist market in which Frits Kroon Transport has carved a niche. Catering for mines in Zambia, Democratic Republic of Congo and South Africa, the company has seen increasing demand for its services. “Everything is positive for 2006 and there is a lot of competition,” says director Frits Kroon. Platinum mines around Rustenburg are among the local mines being expanded, he said. The company caters mainly for the yellow metal and mining industry but can provide solutions for all heavy, long and wide transport needs. Established six years ago, it has the experience to minimise delays related to permits, which he concedes can be a problem with abnormal loads.
