The previously announced two-day water cut in areas of Johannesburg has been extended to 58 hours effective from Tuesday this week, but interruptions could be for as long as seven days to two weeks.

A communiqué from Johannesburg Water confirmed the cut and its extension which will mean either total cuts or a loss of water pressure for a time.  The cuts begin at 19:00 tomorrow night.

The closures are for maintenance purposes at various reservoirs.  Other areas directly supplied by Rand Water will also be affected.  These areas include Sandton, Roodepoort, Randburg, Langlaagte, Southdale, Soweto and Ennerdale.
