4PL Clearing and Forwarding has opened new offices at the Beitbridge border. The offices, which are in the Beitbridge Truck Park, “are a natural extension in our regional growth strategy to improve our full supply chain service to our customers,” says chief executive Mark Gunther. It is a fully accredited customs agent offering import and export clearing, the supervision of vehicles, overseeing customs examinations, and facilitating transit clearance and border crossings. The services include the provision of toll packs, as well as arranging truck parking facilities and diesel refuelling. 4PL is also able to organise Commercial Vehicle Guarantees (CVGs) at the border. Heading up the operation is Tina de Bruin who has nine years’ experience in the industry. She has been based in Musina/Groblersbrug and understands the challenges of keeping freight moving across the border, says Gunther. The new Beitbridge office is connected to the 4PL Group’s fully paperless EDI system. According to Gunther 4PL was among the first clearing houses to have its systems fully evaluated and approved by the South African Revenue Services (Sars).
