President Jacob Zuma will lead a South African delegation to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, for the 28th Assembly of Heads of State and Government of the African Union (AU).
The four-day summit, which starts on Saturday, will be held under the theme “Harnessing the Demographic Dividend through Investment in the Youth”, the Presidency said in a statement.
Amongst others, Zuma will participate in a retreat of AU heads of state where institutional reforms of the AU aimed at enhancing the continental body's governance systems will be considered.
The report, according to the Presidency, was commissioned at the last AU summit held in Kigali, Rwanda. The former governor of the South African Reserve Bank, Tito Mboweni, was appointed as one of the experts who assisted Rwanda president, Paul Kagame with the project.
