Zimbabwe looks west for ocean gateway

Zimbabwean exporters and importers are making greater use of Walvis Bay as a trade gateway, according to Gilbert Boois, projects manager at the Walvis Bay Corridor Group (WBCG).This follows a number of meetings and presentations in Zimbabwe by WBCG team members and the opening of the Zim Dryport in the Walvis Bay harbour precinct.According to Namport statistics, Zimbabwe accounts for 6% of the cross-border traffic handled through the Port of Walvis Bay.
