ZIMBABWE'S customs department has begun reorganising in preparation for the creation of the National Revenue Authority.
Says deputy customs director George Mhiribidi :We are merging our operations with the tax department to form the revenue authority.
Senior staff will become responsible for regions rather than specific towns. Probably the most crucial change has been at Beitbridge where the senior collector has been promoted to assistant director and is also responsible for Masvingo. The assistant director for Harare will be in charge of the airport and the areas surrounding the capital
