Zim has a sweet tooth for honey exports

As Zimbabwe looks to further grow its apiculture industry, bee keepers are looking to export honey to the Japanese market, following the four tonnes that were exported to Italy last year.

“We have sent samples of processed honey to Japan to appraise that market of what we have and what we offer in Zimbabwe,” Apiculture Association of Zimbabwe (AAZ) chairperson, Cecessar Kandiwa, was quoted by online newspaper the Southern Times as saying.

Although Zimbabwe’s apiculture industry is still in its infancy, Kandiwa insists that it is ready to export.
