Workshop examines transport skills development in Africa

INNOVATIVE WAYS of developing logistics and transport skills in Africa was the theme of a recent two-day Africa Education Workshop organised by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT) in South Africa. The second event of its kind to be held on the continent - the first was held last year in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania - it attracted representatives from Ghana, Malawi, Mauritius, Nigeria, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe. CILT International has been called upon to localise educational and training programmes and examinations to meet the continent’s unique requirements while not deviating from the organisation’s high standards. The workshops have been a response to this plea.
