LITTLE BY little the fact has been driven home. Stuart Little is for real. Not merely a movie character. But at Grindrod Freight Logistics in Isando the whole scenario has provided unexpected humour.
Ever since the film bearing my name appeared on the local cinema circuit I've had uphills, says Grindrod's Stuart Little.
At first it was a problem. When I left my name with prospective clients they thought I was taking them on. Like claiming I was Bill Clinton calling. People thought I was taking the mickey out of them. Once they were assured it wasn't a windup, we all enjoyed the joke.
But the freight business's own Stuart Little had the last laugh - in his most serious setting.
The judge in my divorce case last week asked me if I had anything to do with the film? I had to enjoy that one!
