The recent iteration of Shipwreckers in KwaZulu-Natal, the shipping industry’s most anticipated charity event, once again demonstrated the significant generosity of the logistics and supply chain industry.
Durban truly showed up and showed off, uniting for a cause that matters, organisers Land and Sea Shipping said.
“Thanks to the incredible support of our guests, sponsors and donors, we proudly raised R150 000 for our amazing beneficiaries: National Sea Rescue Institute, Ayan Benevolent Home, and Lake Haven Children’s Home, Durban.”
Well recognised as one of the most joyous events in an otherwise serious sector, the shipping industry lived up to the theme’s expectations.
“From spooky costumes to heartfelt moments, it was a night to remember, a celebration of community, compassion and the spirit of giving back,” the organisers said.
Companies represented at the event included Evergreen, Ceva Logistics, MSC, Adonai Shipping, DCP, Charter Link, Freight News, South African Cargo Services, Redserv, M&S Logistics, Metal Line, Grindrod, PIL, LTD, PGS, Suntrans, Old Mutual, SCS Worldwide, ZAKPAK, Access World, Africa Roots Foundation, AGL, MSC Cruises, Bitline, Freight Station, Exodus, Active 8 Holding, Diamond Shipping Services, City Deep Tradeport, Kings Rest, Pacorini, and Sharaf Shipping Services.
“To everyone who joined us, supported us, or contributed in any way, thank you for helping make this event truly unforgettable. Durban really brought waves of generosity.”
