Röhlig Grindrod's Longmeadow
warehouse, equipped with
internet connectivity, provides
state-of-the-art service, says marketing
officer Lia Liebenberg. The 5000 m²
facility has inventory control system
scanning equipment in place, as well as
the latest alarm system and closed-circuit
TV cameras that monitor 16 areas inside
and out.
Three electronic scales are installed,
and dock levellers are in place at five
loading bays, which can accommodate
trucks from one-tonners to Super Links.
20ft to 40ft containers’ palletised or
loose cargo can be packed and unpacked
on site, while battery-powered forklifts
can heft up to 4.5 tonnes.
Already a variety of cargo has been
handled at the facility, from building
materials and vehicles to clothing
and foodstuffs.
